 FONTAINE DE VAUCLUSE
5,4 miles from the Isle on the Sorgue
Without any doubt the greatest feature of this small town is that it hides the source of the stream Sorgue which spurs out from the 274 yards high cliff. This natural fountain whose waters are green-emerald is ranked the first in France and the fifth in the world for its power. Also, the department's name has been taken from that of the village.

 THE BAUX DE PROVENCE
The Baux of Provence is a perched village which is known as "one of the most beautiful villages in France". It possesses a rich heritage both historical and architectural. It hosts medieval fairs in May, July and August. Many craft shops and artists inhabit its narrow streets.

 AVIGNON
Capital of the Vaucluse, Avignon is built with many monuments ranked among the heritage of the Unesco (the Papal Palace, its famous bridge...). Also during the summer, Avignon hosts the reknown drama fair (three weeks in July).

 THE LUBERON
The natural and regional park of the Luberon spreads along 165,000 hectares, from Cavaillon to Villeneuve. The park belongs to the world network of biosphere reserves. It is a living land inhabited by 150,000 people and 69 communities.

 ROUSSILLON
In front of the Luberon at the bottom of the Mounts of Vaucluse, this charming village with colored facades overhangs the well-known cliffs. Following pedestrian itineraries is delightful and safe.

 GORDES
This charming village with houses made of dry stone is perched upon the mounts of the vaucluse and faces the Luberon. It has been known as "the most beautiful village in France" for many years. To be seen : the panorama of the valley and the mount Luberon, the fortified castle built during the eleventh century, Senanque's cistercian abbey, and of course the village of "Bories" : these mysterious round houses made of dry stone.
